KINDLY SPONSORED BY BEARWOOD LAKES GOLF CLUB

Many of our disadvantaged communities cannot afford the cost of transport for their learners to enjoy educational excursions outside of their immediate environment. To facilitate access to Cheetah Outreach education programmes by these schools, Cheetah Outreach offers sponsored transport for up to 50 buses a year. The average cost for a single bus to bring approximately 60 learners to the facility is between R 1 200 and R 1 500 depending on the distance traveled. Since inception in 2008, this programme has been supported through an annual golf day hosted at the Bearwood Lakes Golf Club in the UK and facilitated by club members. |

Whilst at the facility learners engage in interactive presentations which are learning area and grade specific, go on a tour of the facility highlighting the reasons behind the plight of the cheetah and the initiatives being undertaken by conservation programmes and participated in fun activity such as cheetah masks or conservation worksheets. Teachers can together with our education officer, Mary Possa, design focused presentations to align with their lesson plans currently undertaken in their school classrooms. |
