WELCOME THE NEWEST MEMBERS OF
THE CHEETAH OUTREACH FAMILY

A pair of bat-eared foxes and a female serval have joined Cheetah Outreach.

The female and male bat-eared foxes are 3 ½ months old.  The female is from Lory Park Animal Sanctuary near Johannesburg and the male is from Bester Birds and Animals Zoo in Johannesburg.  Both were hand-reared, and were brought together at 2 ½ months of age and integrated as a pair.  As ambassadors for their species, they represent another small predator that benefits from the presence of Anatolian shepherd livestock guarding dogs on South African farmland.

The female serval is about eight months old and is on breeding loan from Bester Birds and Animals Zoo.  She is also hand-reared and habituated to people.  Besides meeting the public as a serval ambassador, she will be bred with our male serval, Baggins, when she is fully mature.

All three animals will be named soon.
